"KP International Film Festival"

 

The 2020 KP International Film Festival is currently seeking submissions across several categories from around the world. In particular, the festival aims to provide a showcase for human interest films that may be overlooked by other media outlets. This festival serves a dual-purpose: to recognize achievements in independent film-making; and to provide equipment for aspiring filmmakers. Selected nominees will have their films screened at a major NYC theater. Selected scripts will receive camera equipment towards the creation of their films. Winners at the festival will receive a custom-sculpted trophy in addition to cash prizes. All participants will receive feedback for their work.

Kourosh Parsi (KP), creator of this festival, is himself a filmmaker. Originally from Iran, he remembers growing up with limited funds and struggling to find resources to make his films. Now, he has made 32 films to date, having been a filmmaker for the past 20 years. He is well-versed in film production and has served as a judge at other film festivals.
